Abstract: When earthquake comes, the electrical equipments of power system like substations will always be damaged seriously. In order to study the seismic response of eletrical equipments installed in the bracket, this paper chooses SF6 circuit breakers on commonly used high-voltage electrical equipments as our reserch object and simplifies SF6 circuit breakers into multi-degrees system. We calculate its natural vibration cycle by use of Matlab software. This paper also studies the possibilities of destruction on electical equipments like breakers installed in the bracket under certain degree earthquake condition and the impact of bracket on seismic response through the static method and the base shear method. After comparing brackets' seismic response in different height, analyzing equipments' requirement and spatail utilization, this paper proposes a better optimal installation method which will provide reference and help to equipments' installation.
