无传染性。传染是病原体对他人的一种寄托过程，白癜风是色素代谢障碍而发病，不是由病原体引起。

白癜风分类 　　据白斑的形态、部位、范围及治疗反应，临床上将其分为四型：①局限型，白斑单发或群集于某一部位;②散发型，白斑散在、大小不一，多对称性分布；③泛发型，常由上述二型发展而来，病损面积大于体表的1/2;④节段型，白斑按神经节段或皮节分布。

据病损处色素脱失情况又可将该病分为完全型与不完全型两种。前者对二羟苯丙氨酸(DOPA)反应阴性，黑素细胞消失，治疗反应差。后者对DOPA反应阳性，黑素细胞数目减少，治愈机率大。
